Ever wondered who really owns the media ?

Right now, we see a democratization of public communication. Anyone can make their views known and social media is a major part of our everyday lives.

Also for those dealing with Network Marketing.

    Web-two-point...what?

There are now widely reported a lot about social media. Thousands of new users coming daily across the globe. New friendships occur every second, and the way we interact with each other has exploded dramatically the past 5 years. It is hard not to be fascinated with this phenomenon. But what do we actually use it for? Is it really so interesting to hear what everyone has to say? And is there a danger that we dilute the personal relationship?

There are many critics. But in this case even the most determined negative people must think again. Web 2.0, social media, the new communications - has many names - is the cornerstone of tomorrow's way of life. It is therefore important that we understand and accept the phenomenon, so we do not miss the opportunities that come with it. Perhaps we also learn to better understand our children in that way ...

    The difference is now.

See, for example journalism. News is not what it used to be. Back then newspapers, magazines, radio and television had the right to communicate news to the people. It was a one-way communication, where the editor, publisher or company owners decided what should be said and written. But it was then.

Today the communication belongs to the people. We have gone from one-way to two-ways communication, where you and I can help to shape the information that flows out to the people. Of course with knowledgeable journalists and editors who can filter the message.

Two-ways communication will be the form in the future. We can see who is already gaining momentum through social media such as Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, Twitter and many others.

    Here are some interesting facts:

     • The target audience 18-34 years use 4.3 times as much time on social media than they do together on TV, radio and newspapers. And this is just the beginning.

     • Facebook has 140 million active users. Indeed, an increase of 89 percent compared with a year ago. Each active Facebook'er use 3 to 4 times a day and spend an average of 19 + minutes on one website!

     • YouTube has 75 million videos in their "Book". YouTube.com is freely accessible to all. 150,000 new videos uploaded every day! YouTube is bigger than any television network in the world. Advertising agencies in the U.S. last year spent 4.3 billion U.S. dollars in online video advertising. The total budget for traditional television advertising was 55-60 billion U.S. dollars. So we see a drastic change of nearly 10 percent which has gone over to video advertising on YouTube and others.

     • Twitter grows by 300,000 new users each month. Most of these are early adopters and give their views known to the average of 400-500 people a day. Imagine what it might mean when the right message to be out.

We have the power. And the responsibility.

There have been one-way communication from the time we chisel in stone, to the paper and its use, for radio, television and the Internet. Social media is the new revolution in our daily communications. Traditional norms are broken. Now it is us who decide what's hot or not. We form our own stream of news and information of what we decide through a click on a link. We blog, upload, share, poker, rates and share our lives with the entire world. Sometimes so well that even the best television host can’t follow.

But with powerful forces come great responsibility. Even if users have the power, it is not the matter what you send out into the air. Anyone who takes advantage of social media should critically assess whether the posted information is relevant and has a value for the recipient. Everything else just contributes to more communication pollution.

Thus. Unless you are good friends with social media yet, then learn how to do. It's fun, easy, rewarding and instructive. And with little time opening up a whole new world of learning to know new people will be inspired and perhaps even expand its business.

Just remember, what comes from the heart and with a common sense.
